Fangstar lay in his den his fur still ruffled from sleep the death of his mate and the leader before him kept playing over and over in his mind. He still missed his mate and wished that she was still a live. Letting out a sigh he stood and sat outside his den so that he could see what his clan was up to. One thing he was glad about was that his daughter Falconkit had survived while her mother and siblings hadn't. The thought saddened him and he let his mind wonder the good times him and Hawktalon had, has together.

The petite, white she-cat clambered up to where the Leader's Den lay. Her blue eyes were calm, though the speed in her step expressed her need to see Fangstar urgently. Lightdance approached the entrance, only to jump back a step in surprise and the leader himself emerged. "Fangstar." She bowed her head in a quick greeting before reporting to him what she needed to. "I was out patrolling this morning, and discovered the fresh scent of fox. I tracked it, and discovered a young one." The deputy paused, letting the new information soak in for Fangstar. After a few heartbeats, she continued with her story. "I chased it off into Fernclan territory, but I'm concerned it might come back. What do you propose we do?" The white cat sat back on her haunched, and tucked her tail neatly around her paws. As she watched the leader, she noticed a distress about his appearance. Must be thinking of Hawktalon. She thought sadly, feeling a pang of sypmathy for the tom.

Fangstars thoughts cleared and a look of thought replaced his distressed one as he thought over her words and thought of a solution. "I want you to post extra patrols over there, but I don't want any apprentices over there until we know it's safe," he meowed his icy-blue eyes thoughtful. "If the fox does return we'll teach it a lesson it won't forget in a hurry," he meowed flicking his ears.
Ooc: yes, I know that there's not any apprentices yet, but I'm pretending there is

Lightdance nodded, seeing the logic in what her leader was saying. If any apprentice was caught alone by a fox... the deputy shuddered at the thought. The white cat was about to head off and send more patrols immediately to the area, she paused. She still sensed something might be wrong with the leader. Though the quiet she-cat wasn't one to converse much, she couldn't let something like this go without addressing. "Fangstar, If I may ask.. are you alright?" Lightdance mewed carefully, tilting her head to the side out of curisoity and concern.

"Just thinking of Falconkit, she needs a queen to take care of her," Fangstar meowed his eyes shadowed with worry. "She's strong but she won't survive long without milk," he meowed not worried about sharing his worries with his deputy. Falconkit was the only kit that had survived out of the litter. The other two had gotten greencough and died with their mother.

Lightdance pondered on this for a moment. The clan had not current queens that were expecting or nursing. If it got bad enough, they could perhaps take the kit to a clan, to be nursed at least. But then Stormclan would be endebited to another clan- not the best situation to be in. "Perhaps we could mash up freshkill- the way I've seen birds do for their young, and see if Falconkit will eat it?" The little kit was infact still very young, though perhaps if the prey was beaten to a pulp.. it would be enough to get the leader's young kit through leafbare until she could eat prey whole.

Fangstar pondered what she said knowing that they had no queens to take care of his motherless kit. "Thats what we will do?" he decided curling his tail over his paws his icy-blue eyes cleared of worry.
